A day like now

15 10 2008

Today I was finally able to track down an early release of Pink’s new album “Funhouse”. Which will give me an opportunity to preview it before it comes out for purchase, and finding out if it’s a worthy buy. (Which I’m sure it is, cuz it’s Pink…) Along with that, after my first listen of John Legend’s “Evolver”, it hasn’t brought much interest, and has yet to grow on me. With a couple more listens, I’m sure I’ll get used to it, as it’s a little different sound then his first two albums.

In other news, my little kitty Kimani turned two months yesterday, and I can’t believe how much he’s grown! He went and had his first real vet appt. today, everyone there loved him and thought he was adorable. Which is something I already knew… Anyway, he got his shots, and was given a very healthy diagnosis. Getting all that taken care of was a nice addition to a pretty good day.

Food for thought

14 10 2008

Today felt like a no day. Something between the time of yesterday and moments of  today, where it seems like everything is timeless and still. Failing to be anything a breath, but you’re there anyway, and that’s what I call a no day.

Anyway, as I was going through some music, I was reminded of an old show I used to watch when I was younger. After a little bit of research , I found out that it was Wil Cwac Cwac, an old show that was translated from Welsh to English. It honestly was one of the cutest shows, and what I rate pretty high in standards that you just don’t see on TV anymore. There are only a few other shows, in similar animation that I would rate as high as this one. Hoping someday we could get back to the simplicity and greatness of these shows, I will display them as my top five nostalgic cartoons.

1. Wil Cwac Cwac

2. Paddington Bear

3. Babar

4. Madeline

5. Curious George

Listening pleasures

13 10 2008

Some upcoming albums in October, from artists that I am most anticipating to hear their releases.

Brett Dennen – Hope for the Hopeless

Pink – Funhouse  Oct. 28

Snow Patrol – A Hundred Million Suns  Oct. 28

Aside from those listed above, I have a few albums in my queue that are early and new releases. From John Legend, James Morrison and a new one to me, Hercules and Love Affair. Once I give them a preview, I will come back and post what I think about them.

Celebration

13 10 2008

First to be said and done is to give recognition to something nostalgic and special. On this day fifty years ago, Paddington Bear was born. This was in the era of when cartoons were something simple and yet magical. Nothing can compare to cartoons like this, and Paddington was sure set apart from most.

Guten Tag!

12 10 2008

To christen myself into the blogdom universe of wordpress, I present my first post.

As it is, there’s nothing much going on currently, as far as events. Except, my kitten is behind me, while I’m typing, improving his primal instincts of sneak and attack. Which, might I say, is not too fun in the middle of the night…

Other than that, I have started to read one of the greatest works of literature, and writing of all time. What I’m reading is Bram Stokers Dracula, and it’s what should be upheld as an example to all horror classics. If you have never read this, I would greatly recommend it, you would not be disappointed. Having said that, I’m off to read a little bit more.

Auf wiedersehen!
